Rehearsals
The Waukesha Area Chamber Orchestra will begin rehearsals on Saturday, June 10, 2017 and will run through Friday, June 16, 2017, with a break on Thursday, June 15, 2017.
Core Orchestra will be required to attend all rehearsals that week for the full rehearsal time. Alumni Orchestra will be required to attend Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and the dress rehearsal on Friday for half the rehearsal time. If you can not make all the rehearsals, we would still love for you to play.
The Waukesha Area Chamber Orchestra is blessed to be able to use Carroll University's Shattuck Auditorium as our concert hall. This hall has seen many musicians from beginners, to college students, all the way up to well known professionals. Many groups in the community use this hall. The Waukesha Area Symphonic Band, Jazz Express, and the Wisconsin Philharmonic are just a few. The Waukesha Area Chamber Orchestra has been performing on Shattuck's stage since 2014. The orchestra is delighted to play there again this year.
Our Concert Hall
General Event Information
All Waukesha Area Chamber Orchestra events are free to the public and participants. This means there all concerts are free and anyone playing in this orchestra joins free of charge. We do this because we want our efforts to be reached to everyone without any discrimination to economic status.
Community Outreach
To help promote music education we are planing on putting on concerts at local schools with a instrument petting zoo before or after the concert. Please check back later for dates.
Social Events
The orchestra will be hosting a meet-and-greet event on June 10th, coinciding with the first rehearsal.
Concert
The 10th Annual Concert will be on Friday, June 16, 2017. We will be playing at Shattuck Auditorium on Carroll University's campus at 7:30 pm.
We will be selling a 10th annerversity T-shirt for $10, a silent auction, and will be collecting a donation for a charity approved by the Executive Board.
Fundraising Events
To help fund what we do, we need help raising the money to fund our cause. We are starting a Go Fund Me page where you can donate the the orchestra. Your donation will help pay for our hall, promotion posters, and any other expense the orchestra might have.
